What Is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing at Injecting Confidence Aesthetic Medicine is a nonsurgical aesthetic procedure that utilizes pulsating beams of energy to remove damaged layers of surface skin. The treatment is great for addressing facial wrinkles and lines and for diminishing skin blemishes, including pigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles. Sometimes referred to as a laser peel, fractional skin resurfacing is ideal for patients who want clearer, softer, younger-looking skin. Who is a Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing is ideal for patients who are unhappy with their skin's health or appearance. If you see sun-damaged skin, acne scars, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, or pigmentation, our innovative treatment can help correct these imperfections. Injecting Confidence Aesthetic Medicine can also manage scaly patches and similar texture issues. Laser skin resurfacing isn't recommended for anyone who has very dark skin, lesions, or active acne outbreaks. Additionally, it's important to understand that there is a recovery period associated with laser therapy. Some patients may require up to 2 – 3 weeks for their skin to normalize.
Our Laser Skin Resurfacing Technique
Prior to your laser skin resurfacing procedure in Centennial, CO, a local anesthetic will be applied to numb the treatment areas. During the procedure, you will relax in our special treatment chair while the laser passes over your skin, precisely targeting the needed areas for improvement. You will feel heat from the laser, followed by cold air from the built-in cooling system. The laser energy is designed to remove damaged skin cells while also prompting new collagen growth. After your laser session, the skin will look pink, and there may be some swelling and irritation. These symptoms subside in a few days, and the skin peeling process will occur over a 3 – 5-day timeframe. The skin will naturally crust, flake, and peel off. It's vital to avoid picking at the skin during the recovery process to prevent scarring and to shield the treated area from sun exposure.
How Long Is Recovery After Laser Skin Resurfacing?
For milder resurfacing treatments, an ointment will be smoothed over the skin, and you can return home to recover. The skin may look red, and there may be some irritation and swelling. These symptoms subside in a few days, and the skin peeling process will occur over a 3 – 5-day timeframe. For those who are getting a more intense resurfacing procedure, your recovery period will take longer. The treated areas will most likely be protected with dressings, and the swelling, burning, and irritation symptoms may be stronger. Pain medication can be prescribed to minimize these side effects. The recovery period associated with a deeper resurfacing session can last 2 – 3 weeks. All patients need to limit their sun exposure following their laser treatment and apply sun protection throughout the day. For all laser treatments, the treated skin will naturally crust, flake, and peel away. It is vital to avoid picking at the skin during the recovery process to prevent scarring and protect your skin from sun exposure. After the peeling process has been completed, the treated skin will feel smoother while also appearing rejuvenated, clearer, and younger.
Injecting Confidence Aesthetic Medicine Reviews
Katie has an incredibly cute, conveniently located, and clean medical spa facility. Her staff is friendly and kind and very helpful. You’re greeted upon entry and given your paperwork and everything is explained and you’re directed where to go which as a new patient, is EVERYTHING! I’ve had Botox and Juvederm before, but the level of service and overall feel of everything - from the treatment to the rooms to the staff - was everything I was looking for. Can’t wait to continue my appointments with Katie and her team!
I had my first appointment today and it couldn't have gone better. Katie is kind, personable, and quite thorough in delivering her services. I felt like she equipped me with all the information I needed before, during, and after the appointment. Additionally, certain rewards programs are offered by the Company, which I really value. The facility is very clean and quiet, too, which helped to ease my nerves about going in the first place. Ultimately, I will be returning to Injecting Confidence!
Easy scheduling, friendly, great experience!
Katie and Heather are so knowledgeable and professional!
Heather is a master at the OPUS treatments. It's hard to believe that there is a machine that handles wrinkles, acne scars, discolorations, and fine lines around the lips with so little down time and no restrictions. And the results are supposed to be long-lasting. After my very first treatment I saw immediate results. It was a bit like having a sunburn for a day, but after that I saw unbelievable, noticeable change almost immediately. As the collagen production kicks in, it just keeps improving. I'm nearly 60, so I would guess it would produce even more incredible results for younger people. I just had the second of three treatments a month apart and I get so many complements on my skin. I plan to have more traditional injections (if I still need them) after my OPUS package. Heather listens well to areas I wanted improvement on, and treats accordingly. I just met Katie as well, and the team is so warm. I'm so glad I found this haven of skilled professionals to trust with something so precious as my face!

Laser Skin Resurfacing FAQs
How much does laser skin resurfacing cost?
Laser skin resurfacing costs vary depending on the treatment type you choose. During your consultation, we will understand your skin issues and wants before explaining the different types of laser resurfacing available treatments. After this, we will help you decide on your resurfacing treatment and discuss costs. Injecting Confidence Aesthetic regularly runs treatment specials and discounted packages, so be sure to ask in your appointment.
What's the best type of laser skin resurfacing for me?
We will help you decide which laser resurfacing treatment is best for your needs and goals during your consultation. What treatment is best for you will depend on the health and condition of your skin, your skin problems, and how deep you want your treatment to go. How long you are willing to give your recovery might also be an important factor when you create a treatment plan. If you are in doubt, it is best to select a milder treatment to see how you like your results and adjust as needed for your next treatment.
How can I help my skin recover after a laser skin resurfacing treatment?
A member of our team will explain ways to help your skin heal after a laser treatment. The most important rule is do not pick or peel flaking skin. Doing this could lead to lasting damage like scars. You need to skip all hair removal methods on the treated skin, which means no waxing, shaving, or depilatory creams. We can recommend an ointment to help soothe and heal your skin.
Should I get laser skin resurfacing, a chemical peel, or microneedling?
After listening to your skin problems, we will help you choose whether laser skin resurfacing, microneedling, or a chemical peel will achieve your goals. While all three rejuvenate the surface of the skin, each has its own benefits and drawbacks. In your consultation, we will discuss each choice and suggest your treatment plan.
How often should I get laser resurfacing treatments?
Based on the resurfacing options you choose for your treatment, you may need to wait several weeks or even months between appointments. Deeper laser treatments will provide longer-lasting results but will need more time for recovery. You should talk to us during your consult about how often you want to come back for treatments so we can take this into account when suggesting a treatment plan during your initial consultation.
