The team at Injecting Confidence Aesthetic Medicine is pleased to perform microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) at our office in Centennial, CO. Microneedling uses several fine-gauge needles to safely and effectively make micro-injuries in the needed areas of the skin, which triggers the natural production of elastin and collagen to enhance the health and appearance of your complexion. Often combined with other treatments, such as serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma), microneedling may help minimize pores, stretch marks, and scars. Book a consultation to learn more about the benefits of microneedling for achieving your skin goals.

Microneedling in Centennial, CO at Injecting Confidence Aesthetic offers a wide range of great benefits to refresh and revitalize your appearance, including:

  • Improving the overall health and appearance of your skin
  • Jump-starting your body's natural healing powers
  • Diminishing lines, wrinkles, and creases
  • Stimulating collagen and elastin production
  • Firming and toning the skin
  • Balancing skin tone and texture
  • Reducing acne scars, large pores, and stretch marks
  • Little to no recovery period

It's possible you may be a candidate for microneedling treatments if you experience light to mild complexion issues, like a decrease in firmness or an uneven texture. Microneedling treatments may also improve the look of scars, stretch marks, and pores. You must be willing to wait before seeing benefits from your microneedling treatment because the collagen and elastin require some time to have an effect on the skin; however, you will have natural-looking results and gain healthier, stronger skin.

Our Microneedling Technique

A microneedling treatment is performed in a private treatment room in about 30 – 60 minutes, followed by using a local anesthetic to help you stay comfortable. The skin being treated will be cleaned before the handpiece is evenly passed over. Once the microneedling is performed, a topical treatment, like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a vitamin-infused serum, can be applied for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. A moisturizer selected for your skin type will be massaged in along with sunscreen since your skin will be more sensitive following the procedure. You might experience some redness and swelling for the next day or so. It may take about 1 – 2 months as the elastin and collagen supply increases before you notice significant changes to your complexion.

How much does microneedling cost?

During your consultation, we will perform a skin analysis and then develop your unique treatment plan. After this, we will explain your costs and the procedure process. Injecting Confidence Aesthetic Medicine often offers discounts on treatment packages, so ask about current deals during your appointment.

Can I combine other treatments with microneedling?

Yes, you can. In the microneedling process, channels are made in your skin that make it easier for treatments to penetrate the lower layers. This is why microneedling is frequently combined with other treatments, such as special serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma). Microneedling with PRP is more commonly known as a Vampire Facial®. During your consultation, we can discuss what treatments may be performed along with microneedling and which would most benefit your skin.

How many treatments are recommended for optimal results?

Most patients get 3 – 6 microneedling sessions to achieve optimal results. However, the number of treatments you require will depend on the condition of your skin and your goals. Microneedling may be safely performed every 4 – 6 weeks as needed. In your consultation, we will estimate the number of sessions you might want after assessing your skin and listening to your goals. Once your skin goals are reached, we recommend getting maintenance sessions two times a year.

Is microneedling safe for everyone?

On the whole, microneedling is appropriate for all skin types and tones. Since the skin injuries created are so small, there are very few side effects afterward. Microneedling can be applied to most areas of skin, including the face, neck, arms, chest, thighs, and calves. Microneedling isn't recommended if you've used Accutane within the last 2 – 3 months, plus if you have an active skin infection, herpes simplex, or open wound. In addition, you might not be able to get microneedling if you're pregnant, nursing, or undergoing radiation therapy.
